The mission of Grace Church of Fredericksburg is to experience the transforming presence and power of the Holy Spirit; to know the Father and His Son Jesus Christ; to engage in healthy relationships; and, to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
To be a family of believers that:
• Pursues and experiences the Presence of God regularly
• Trains people to be disciples and, to disciple, minister and lead others
• Serves as a center for restorative ministry in the church and community
• Sends members to effectively influence, impact and share the Gospel with the world
• Resources and partners with organizations to advance the gospel world-wide
• Grows in size, stature, and resources
Our Values
The Word of God
We value Bible-centered preaching, teaching, and ministry and the ability of members to read, study, and apply Scripture in everyday life (2 Tm 3:16, 17; 2 Pt 1: 19-21; Ps 119:105)
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit
We value the presence, empowerment and gifts of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; 1 Cor 12:1-11; Rom 12: 6-8; Eph 4: 11-16; Ps 119: 105); communing with, being led by, and hearing and obeying the voice of the Spirit (Rom 8:4; 1 Cor 2:12-24)
Leadership
We value servant leadership as modeled and taught by Jesus (John 13:1-170; Christ-like character, and integrity in those called to lead (1 Tm 3:1-13); and, the development and empowerment of rising leaders (2 Tm 2:2)
Discipleship
We value training, discipleship that focuses on maturity in Christ, personal growth and character development; and, mentoring that produces gift-based servant leaders—for the church and the marketplace (Eph 4:7-16; Heb 5:14; 1 Cor 14:20)
Spiritual Family
We value being a Spirit-formed family where transparency, support, and accountability foster unity, strength and wholeness (Mt 12:48; 1 Tm 5:1-16; Eph 3:15).
Sharing the Gospel
We value the Great Commission; personal evangelism; local and foreign missions; church planting; and relief for the poor and disadvantaged both regionally and globally (Mt 18:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor 8:1-7; Phil 4:10-20; Gal 2:10; Prv 19:17)
Worship
We value worship as expressed in singing, prayer, acts of service, consecrated living, obedience, passion for God, and love (Eph 5:19; Mt 6:5-15; Luke 22:27; Rom 12:1, 2; John 14:21; Luke 10:27; John 13:34, 35).
Honor
We honor God; one another; mothers and fathers; the elderly; marriage; spiritual leaders; governing authorities; and everyone who “does good” (1 Tm 1:17; Rom 12:10; Eph 6:2; Lev 19:32; Heb 13:4; Heb 13:17; Rom 13:1-7; Rom 2:7). We honor each individuals and their respective gifting (Rom 12:6; Eph 4:7). We also honor those who are less presentable (1 Cor 12:22-25).
